Everyone has hobbies or things they enjoy doing. I am one that REALLY enjoys fishing.
Here’s a good example why!
I caught this largemouth bass this morning about 7:00 at Nodaway Lake while fishing with my dad. It measured 20 inches long, and weighed about 5 pounds. Not a bad fish at all!
Let’s see, at 7am I’d already been at work for an hour. I’m thinking bad thoughts right now!
Seriously, though, Congratulations! 🙂
And here’s the rest of my fish story… after fishing Nodaway Lake yesterday morning, we went to Mozingo Lake in the afternoon. The bass were practically jumping in the boat! We ended up bringing seven keepers home between the two of us (which were released in my dad’s pond), all VERY nice fish between 2-3 pounds each, and lost at least that many more in that size range too (fishing heavy cover with soft plastics naturally results in a few lost fish)!
All said, it was the best day of fishing I can remember.
Nice…. I like the t-shirt too!
You’re a Chiefs fan, Kevin?
I knew there was a reason I liked you!
I was born in KC @ St. Lukes. My dad worked for YFC!
Kevin, both of my girls were born at St. Luke’s.
But of course, the biggest one measuring twice the length of the boat and then some actually slipped through his fingers and swam away. Rats!
Actually, Judah, the one I missed must have weighed 30 pounds, and looked a lot like this (the 25.1 lb fish caught recently at Lake Dixon in California):
Well, maybe not. 🙂
Truthfully, speaking of fish I didn’t catch… I had one that easily went six pounds up to the boat last night, but it wasn’t hooked all that well. As I was going to net it, it jumped, and actually threw the lure right back into the boat beside me. I could only watch (with tears in my eyes) as it swam away. That’s 100% true (with the exception of the tears)… my dad was there and would attest to it.
Needless to say, the fishing has been VERY good this week… better than anything I’ve ever experienced.
Yes, nice bass indeed.
They say the camera doesn’t lie…
Judah wanted me to add this picture to her last comment…
To tell you the truth, I’m GLAD I didn’t catch one that big… might have sunk the boat!
