As you probably have noticed, I really don’t get into political issues much here at Toward the Goal… it’s just not generally in line with the purpose of the site. That being said, I just can’t pass this one up.
Surely you’ve heard about the recent flap over Senator Kerry’s recent remarks during a campaign rally for California gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides, in which he basically insulted the intelligence of those serving in our armed forces? The quote that has everyone up in arms follows:
You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.
Now, I’m no fan of John Kerry (or any liberal Democrat for that matter)… but that’s not the point of this post. I wanted to draw your attention to a recent photo from the front lines, which shows that even under the difficult circumstances our troops face, they can take all this political wrangling in stride…
