Our Family Is Growing!

WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!!!!

(Sorry, I’ve been wanting to share this for about six weeks now, and now I can finally let it out.)

Anyway, here’s baby’s first picture (the greatest Friday Photo ever if you ask me!):

As you can imagine, we’re all very excited that God is blessing us with a new life! We’ve got a lot to do between now and early March, but preparation for a baby is joyous work!

UPDATE…
Here’s an edited image that shows what’s what for those of you with little imagination… 🙂 (I’m kidding, of course! I know ultrasounds can be a bit confusing… it took me a bit even though this is our third child and probably our sixth or seventh ultrasound!)

One last thing… a great Scripture passage!

Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV)
13For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
        your works are wonderful,
        I know that full well.

15My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
        were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Let me add my congrats, John. I’m happy for you.

At least I think I am. I vaguely remember when my wife was expecting and I think I was happy about it then. So I’m guessing you are, too.

HELP! I have ALREADY turned into my own grandpa!

OK John, now let’s see if you are up to it!
Go and load Photoshop and add a few arrows and name the parts, will ya? 😀

That white dot, top left-of-centre – that baby isn’t throwing toys out of the gestational crib already, is s/he?

But before I forget – CONGRATULATIONS!
Be extra good to Nancy. But of course, you already know to be so. 🙂

Come on now, Judah. You can’t tell me that you can’t see that perfect and beautiful child in the ultrasound now, can you? 🙂

Okay, okay, I admit… even with this being our third baby and about our sixth or seventh ultrasound, it still took me a little bit to see what’s there. I’ll add an update in a bit detailing what’s what… 🙂

The first time I saw an ultrasound of my unborn son it looked like a mobile map of the moon! Then I suddenly realized he was looking directly towards me (the “camera”) as a little knee came up and leg straightened out, an arm came up and the obstetrician said “Hi Mom!” as my son seemed to be waving at me. Those first photos sure are wonderful. 🙂

BTW, early March is a great time to be born – especially the 8th. I can thoroughly recommend the 8th. The very best people are born on that date! 😀

Cool! That’s the first time I’ve ever been able to discern the baby in an ultrasound. Thanks!

They didn’t have it when our kids were born. The hospital bill was $200 and the doc charged $100.

I can see baby’s right leg as well. Can you?
It is bent – at the knee, of course – so that the foot is tucked under out of sight.
Yes, I agree – looks just like Dad! 😀

    Judah…

March 8th? That makes two dates we’re supposed to shoot for now… My grandmother is hoping for March 1st. We’ll just have to see when the doctor does her surgeries and when she recommends that this child be born (we’ve had c-sections with both Jeffrey and Jenna, so another will be planned). It’s kind of cool to have a little bit of control over the birthday! 🙂

    Kevin…

You always crack me up, man… Thanks for the laugh!

(BTW, I’m hoping this baby looks much more like Nancy than me… she’s much better looking!)

    Bob…

I think we’re looking in the realm of $10,000 nowadays. I’m VERY thankful for insurance!

    Everyone…

Thanks for all the well wishes! Keep Nancy and the baby in your prayers… it’s a long road yet!

    Dear Brother John,

Congratulations! We’ll all be praying the baby takes after his/her mother!

    Love in Christ,

    Jeff
